COFFEE, ANYONE?

As much as I love coffee, we all know that too much can have a toll on our health. So, I have decided to take charge and search the world…. Or more likely the internet,  for energizing substitutes that give you a more sustainable energy boost without compromising our wellbeing, because who doesn’t want their morning routine to also double as an added health benefit?

Here are the top candidates:

Coconut Milk Matcha

Matcha has a wealth of health benefits, It has been a staple drink in Japanese culture for generations! I like to mix mine in a blender cup- easy, breezy.

Follow these easy steps to make your own:

  • One cup of unsweetened coconut milk

  • Half a teaspoon of matcha

*Be careful when adding matcha to your drink as too much may make it bitter.

  • Sweeten with either agave or a packet of stevia to keep it light

See! easy plus It gives me a super quick boost without the crash at the end of the day.

Nuun Energy Tablets

You may already know about these, but I always have a tube sitting at my desk or in my purse. It’s just the right amount of caffeine for a pick me up when you hit the afternoon slump or in the morning on your way to work. They are super practical since you just have to let it dissolve in water and it will taste great! You can get them pretty much at any grocery store- I usually get mine at HEB.

Yerba Mate

Yerba mate is an amazing blend of green and black tea, rich in antioxidants and tons of energy! You can get tea bags, buy it bottled, or canned (be wary of sugars) and enjoy it hot or chilled!

The taste is a little bit bitter but definitely something you can get used to.

Lime , Apple Cider Vinegar Water

This little concoction takes a little getting used to BUT it really does work. It’s also pretty simple, so simple… that its literally just adding the ingredients into a nice bottle of water.

My go-to measurements are:

One table spoon of Apple Cider Vinegar

One whole lemon

500mL of water

Stir and enjoy!

Coconut Water

Coconut water , yes, it is that simple! Not only does it hydrate, is low on fats and strengthens your immune system, it’s got enough potassium to helps keep fluid and electrolyte balance.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea! Not only is it tasty – well, I think so… It aids with digestion, is anti-inflammatory and reduces fatigue by improving blood circulation!

These awesome beverages help keep me going, there’s nothing like feeling great in your own skin and treating yourself with love. Don’t forget to keep hydrated! It’s another way to keep your energy up and your body going.

P.S. if you are worried about some of the drinks staining your teeth, you can always try drinking these with a straw!
